Journalist and TV Producer Peggy Kusinski

Keynote Speaker at Centennial Banquet

 

We are honored to have Peggy Kusinski, a native Chicagoan from the Northwest side and a producer and sportscaster at NBC5 Chicago, as the Keynote Speaker at the Glos Polek Centennial Banquet.

A member of the American Sportscasters Association, Ms. Kusinski is an accomplished producer and sportscaster in a male-dominated profession. She earned at Bachelor of Science degree in Radio and Television from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She received two National Emmy Awards while a producer at ESPN and garnered eight Local/Midwest Emmy awards, including six at NBC5, among them the 2007 and 2008 Outstanding Achievement for Individual Excellence On-Camera Sportscaster.

Ms. Kusinski's talk show career started at CLTV in 1996, when she returned to Chicago after stints as a producer for CBS and NBC during the Albertville Winter Olympics and the Barcelona Summer Games. She anchored the 2000 Summer Olympics from Sydney, Australia, for ABC Radio Sports. Ms. Kusinski was the first woman to host a sports talk show in Chicago, as co-host of WMAQ-AMs Sports Huddle.

Ms. Kusinski is involved with several charities and is active with her Alma Mater, Resurrection High School. In 2010 she was awarded the Resurrection College Prep High School Renaissance Award, which honored her participation as a Board Member and mentor for the GIRLS IN THE GAME organization.
