PWA CELEBRATES 111th ANNIVERSARY
May 22 is Founder's Day

Polish Women's Alliance of America will be celebrating its 111th anniversary this year on May 22nd. On this day in 1898, a group of Polish immigrant women met in Chicago, Illinois, with Stefania Chmielinska as their leader, and they founded the first fraternal benefit society for Polish women. It was a revolutionary idea at the time-that women could run their own organization, manage their own finances, provide life insurance and other benefits to other women, and work together to achieve independence and equality. 111 years later, their dreams have become a reality and we honor them for their hard work and for their vision. They left us a world that is better than the one they inherited. We must do the same for future generations of PWA members. Happy Anniversary PWA!
