2012 PWA HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMIC AND SPORTS AWARDS

Application Period February 1 - March 15, 2012


High school seniors can apply for the PWA Academic and Sports Awards between February 1st and March 15th, 2012 (postmark). Click on the links below to download the Academic Award Requirements and Academic Application Form and/or the Sports Award Requeirements, Application, and Certification Forms. Two awards of $500 each will be awarded in each category. An essay, photo, and Media Form must accompany your application.

REMKUS-SOCHACKI SCHOLASHIPS ANNOUNCED FOR 2012–2013

Funded by the PWA Charitable & Educational Foundation

 

Two $5,000 Scholarships will be awarded annually through the PWA Charitable & Educational Foundation. Each Scholarship is renewable for up to four years, as long as the recipient maintains the minimum GPA required and remains a full-time student.

Requirements:

Applicants must be full-time students from senior year in high school to students currently attending an accredited university or college. GPA minimum: 4.33 (on a 5 pt. scale) or 3.33 (on a 4 pt. scale) and 3.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4 pt. scale) if a high school senior. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen (proof required).

Essay:

Completed applications must be accompanied by a 500-word or more essay entitled “What My Polish Heritage Means to Me” and photo.

Application Period: March 15 - May 15, 2012

In addition to requesting an application by contacting PWA Headquarters beginning March 15, 2012, applications and requirements can be downloaded at the link below or by contacting your District President (addresses listed in Glos Polek). The completed application, essay, and photo must be postmarked by the deadline of May 15, 2012, in order to be considered.
